千葉の梨はやっぱり旨い
９月の半ばになると、母から毎年豊水が届く。子どもの頃は、よく家族で一緒に梨がりにでかけたものだ。梨園にしいたムシロの上に座って、もいだばかりの梨を食べると、おいしいんだけれど、生あったかくて、「あ〜あ〜、冷たいのの方がおいしいなあ」なんて思っていたのを思い出す。
今は実家もこしてしまったから千葉に行く機会はめっきり減ってしまったが、先日、果物屋さんで、「千葉の梨だよ、旨いよ〜」と売っていたので、思わず「千葉のどこの？」と話しかけてしまった。「白井のだよ」とのこと。母が送ってくれるのがここから。「白井の梨はほんとに旨いよ、それに安い。ハマナシとかいって、このあたりでも梨は売っているけれど、味は白井にはかなわないし、値段が高いからねえ」とおじさん。「そうそう、千葉の梨はやっぱり安くておいしいのよね〜」と思わずうなずいてしまう私。干物だって、伊豆は高いし、おいしいの探すの大変だけれど、千葉の干物は安くて旨いのがたくさん。横浜に住んで１２年になるけれど、やっぱり私って千葉ッ子なんだなあ、、と実感。
