夫の誕生会
土曜日の夜、ちょっと遅れの夫の誕生祝いをしようと、友人たちと食事。大人５人、高校生１人、生後２か月の赤ちゃん１人を招待。夫の誕生祝いといっても、彼も半分は「俺が作りたいんだ」という料理を作り、それを「おいしい」と食べてもらいたいということなの。夫にとっての理想の「最後の晩餐」はフォアグラというくらいなので、友人の一人に頼んで、天現寺近くのニッシンデリカテッセンにて、フォアグラを買ってきてもらう（なんと奮発して１kgも買ってきてくれた！！）。
その夜のメニュー。たらばがにをゆでたの（4,3kgのタラバを市場にて調達）＆ソース（定番の酢醤油の他に、バジルとアンチョビのディップ、ライム＆塩）が前菜（私）、貧乏人のキャビア（茄子のギリシャ風ペースト、私担当）、赤い甘唐のマリネ（私）。フォアグラのソテー２種のソース（まずはイチジクソース、次は、月山の山ぶどうワインを使ってソースを作る。私の担当）、野菜たっぷりのクスクス（夫）、いろいろきのこのじっくりソテー（夫）、羊のスネ肉のロースト（夫）、赤キャベツと紅玉のラインガウ風煮込み（私）、最後に土鍋コシヒカリに、ウニとまぐろの刺身（これも市場で調達）。ワインは白２本、赤６本、フォアグラとはお決まりのソーテルヌ（ハーフ）。おみやげにいただいたクロードブジョ！とか、ワイン発祥の地ギリシャの珍しいワインとか、夫のNAPAみやげのワイン２本とかもあり、堪能。
肉屋で「羊こんなにあったら多いよねえ」とおじさんがいうのに、「大丈夫食べちゃいますから」と1,5kgも仕入れる夫に、「いくら人がくるといっても、カニで4,3kgでしょ？フォアグラも１kgって話だし、クスクスもあるし羊は今回パスでいいんじゃないの？」というと、「俺の誕生日だし、俺が作りたいんだもん！」だって。
みんなで飲んで、食べて、いろいろ話して、やっぱりこういうのって楽しい。アスパラのブルードーベルニュソースを出すのをすっかり忘れていたけれど、、。
